Sensations Limited on Tuesday unveiled a  sports wear distribution store at Westgate Shopping Mall dubbed ‘Sports Planet’.

The store supplies original sports gear for globally recognised sports brands including Grays, Babolat, Mitre, Spalding, Maharadja, Proform, Gilbert, Head, Molten, Vampire, Arena, Nordic Track, Bestway, Motion, Adidas and Puma. The store will be selling the accessories used in multiple Sports in Kenya and also products for Gym and Camping.

Sports Planet brand manager Mr Edwin Munene said the store was opened to encourage Kenyans to exercise and keep healthy as the store provides the necessary gears for them to do so.

“We want to encourage Kenyans to keep fit and healthy as it is crucial to the country’s growth. It wouldn’t be nice to work long hours in helping the Nation grow but not healthy to do so for long. We have the gears necessary for exercise including attire and Gym equipment,” Mr Munene said in the launching event held at the store in the Westgate Shopping Mall.

Speaking at the launch, former Kenyan Cricket captain Aasif Karim, championed for opening of Sports stores in the country in a move to support Sports in the country. “I encourage the opening of more of these stores in Kenya to increase the supply of sports equipment in the country. Kenya is a sporting nation this is a move to support sports,” Karim said.

Sensations Limited, under Salute Holdings, an authorised distributor of luxury brands in Kenya, introduced sports gear as part of the brands they distribute in the country.

Sports Planet was launched in the country in 2014 and has been involved in the distribution of luxury brands. The opening makes the company a distributor of not just luxury brands but also authentic sports wear from global brands.
