Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has been arrested over alleged hate remarks. Muthama was arrested at Kangundo and is being questioned at Pangani Police station. He is accused of making inflammatory remarks in Kitengela at the weekend.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has earlier arrested over the hateful remarks he made at a rally in Thika and on his Facebook page targeting Nasa presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

In a Facebook post on September 5, Kuria said they were ready for another election but that they will hunt people who did not elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kenyans have been relentlessly calling for his arrest though the social media, saying he does not fear being jailed.

He complained that some 100,000 people in Kiambu voted for the NASA presidential candidate and urged the crowd to look for those opposition voters and present them to him “accompanied by their grandmothers.”

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) had said it is investigating him.

If he is taken to court, Kuria risks being denied bail over his repeated hate speech remarks.
