Hockey teams in the national league now know their opponents for the start of the new campaign after the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) released fixtures ahead of the 2019 Hockey season set to kick-off on March 2.

Five different leagues in both the men’s and women’s categories are set to be played this season with three kicking off on Saturday March while the other two are slated for Sunday March 3.

KHU have also introduced a Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) code of conduct to be signed by every player as part of the player registration.

In an email sent to team managers, KHU said, “No player or official shall be allowed to take to the field without a duly signed FIH code of conduct.”

All signed FIH code of conduct documents should be received by the match secretariat by Saturday February 16, KHU added.

The Men’s National League, Men’s Super League and Women’s Super League will all see their first matches played on March 2 while Men’s Premier League and Women’s premier League will kick off the next day.

In the top flight divisions, Parklands HC will face United States International University (USIU) in the Men’s league while Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will play Strathmore University in a women’s varsity derby.
