Directorate of Criminal Investigations  (DCI) detectives (DCI) on Friday arrested outgoing Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) Managing Director Joe Sang as the crime busters heighten their probe into a scam pitting the firm against oil marketers.

On Thursday evening, detectives arrested General Manager Supply Chain Vincent Cheruiyot, General Manager Infrastructure Billy Aseka Company and Secretary Gloria Khafafa.

Ms. Khafafa is being investigated for ascending to her position in the company without having the requisite academic qualifications.

This comes after Sang on December 4 announced that he would not be seeking a second term at the helm of the company.

Sang’s pronouncement is believed to be in connection with the loss of 11 million litres of fuel at the company which the management claimed was spilt.

KPC claimed that more than 7.2 million litres were lost through spillage while another 4.4 million litres stolen at Koru.

The National Environment Management Agency (NEMA) has already stated that no such spillage has occurred.

Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko is also on record stating to be unaware of such a spillage and if it occurred it would be an environmental hazard
