Inside Waiguru’s Multi-Million Luxury Resort

Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru is currently serving a second term as county boss, while also chairing the Council of Governors (CoG). Waiguru, a former Cabinet Secretary, is also a businesswoman and the proprietor behind The Guvnor’s House, an out of town resort located in Sagana along the Nairobi-Nyeri highway.

The fancy hotel was previously a home occupied by the Governor and her family before she moved to Kitisuru in Nairobi. She, however, opted to convert it into an ideal location for leisure seekers.

The Guvnor’s House features wide open green spaces, outdoor seating and a specially created outdoor fireplace. The hotel regularly hosts party events featuring talented local DJs and artists.

It also boasts a menu full of sumptuous local and international cuisines.T he hotel also hosts several other events, including weddings on its grounds.

The luxury resort notably also incorporates a bar, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness centre, restaurant, and meeting and conference rooms.

Guests at the hotel can enjoy a raft of exhilarating activities including kayaking, fishing, cycling, archery and hiking.

The hotel also features a spa and leisure section for relaxation, as well as Karaoke and live entertainment. It also has a small in-house library where guests can enjoy reading various books.

Other services offered to guests include housekeeping, airport transfer, dry cleaning, grocery shopping, car rental, newspaper service, in-room breakfast and babysitting services.

Guests seeking accomodation can sleep in what was once Waiguru’s mansion – which includes soundproof VIP rooms , a terrace, air conditioning and designated smoking area. It costs up to Ksh17,000 to spend a weekend in the executive rooms, and around Ksh13,000 for the regular rooms.
