The Golden Globes red carpet delivered plenty of fashion moments this year — and according to a new analysis, eyewear stole the spotlight just as much as couture gowns and tailored tuxedos.

A January 2026 fashion breakdown by eyewear retailer Overnight Glasses reveals that mixed martial artist Brian Ortega sported the most expensive frames among celebrities attending the Golden Globes, turning his glasses into one of the night’s standout accessories.

Ortega paired his formal look with blue-toned Panthère de Cartier frames, valued at an estimated $1,295 — more than $300 above the next closest contenders. The bold choice shows how statement eyewear has become a central part of red carpet styling rather than just a functional accessory.

Actors Sterling K. Brown and Jacob Elordi tied for second place, each wearing high-end Jacques Marie Mage designs priced around $960. Brown, nominated for Best Drama Actor for his role in Paradise, opted for understated DEWITT frames, while Elordi chose the Casablanca model, complementing his appearance amid buzz surrounding his roles in Frankenstein and the upcoming Wuthering Heights adaptation.

Close behind was Glen Powell, who matched his Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo with retro-inspired glasses from the same brand, estimated at $897, creating a coordinated, polished look that earned him fourth place.

Rounding out the top five, Amy Madigan arrived with husband Ed Harris in coordinated formalwear, accessorizing with sleek black Dita Lineus frames valued at about $845.

Other notable eyewear moments included Seth Rogen in Mr Leight Adonis frames, Walton Goggins in Saint Laurent sunglasses, and Billboard CEO Mike Van, who appeared on the carpet in Gucci glasses priced at approximately $558.

According to Overnight Glasses’ CEO, the rankings highlight a growing trend in red carpet fashion.

“Brian Ortega’s Cartier frames prove eyewear has officially become a red carpet power move, not just a practical accessory,” the executive said in a statement. “Celebrities now choose statement frames the same way they select jewelry or watches — as a way to command attention and complete their look.”

The study examined Golden Globes attendees who incorporated eyewear into their ensembles, comparing brands and market prices to determine which stars invested most heavily in their frames.

If this year’s Globes proved anything, it’s that glasses are no longer an afterthought — they’re a headline accessory.
