Coca-Cola System has today launched its biggest consumer promotion in Kenya, seeking to reward two million consumers ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place from June in Russia.

The promotion dubbed ‘Funga Mamilli na Coca-Cola’ is part of activities branded “Ready For” associated with the FIFA World Cup. It follows a very successful Trophy Tour in Kenya last month, where over 10,000 football fans and cupturalists got an opportunity to come up close with the Trophy and take pictures. More than two million consumers will over the next 16 weeks get an opportunity to win prizes and other rewards worth Ksh 42.5 million.

“Coca-Cola has been a sponsor of the FIFA World Cup for more than four decades. As a build up to the FIFA World Cup, we are tapping into the excitement and the love of Kenyans for football by rewarding them through this campaign. The rewards offer them varying chances on how to prepare for the World Cup and making 16 millionaires by the end of the campaign,” said Rodney Nzioka, Senior Brand Manager – Kenya

To participate, consumers will be required to text the 8-digit code on the white crown to the short-code number 40111 and stand a chance to win fantastic prizes daily and weekly.

Every week, one consumer will have a chance of winning Ksh. 1 million and another five lucky Kenyans will take home Ksh 100,000. This is apart from smart television sets and TV subscriptions to be won during the promotion.

Additionally, there will be daily winners of cash prizes of Ksh 5,000, Ksh 1,000 and Ksh 500. Another two million consumers will receive 7 MB plus 7 SMS (text messages) of data bundles.

With the television sets and the cash prizes for consumers, the promotion aims to get as many Kenyans to be able to pay for TV subscriptions and those feeling adventurous to plan a trip to Russia to watch live matches.

The products that are part of this promotion include Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Krest or Stoney in either plastic or glass bottles with a white crown available at local retail outlets countrywide.

To participate, consumers must be eighteen years and above as well as be registered users on Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom & Yu.

Every week, draws for the weekly grand prize of Kshs 1 million will be conducted and winners contacted through the mobile phone number 0791087785.

The Coca-Cola System in Kenya has been engaging consumers with successful promotional campaigns including Changamkia Mamilli and ‘Watch and Win’ in relation to Coke Studio Africa in the year 2017, which entailed participants winning data and SMS bundles among other prizes.
