An image shared online with claims that it is of Kericho Town is false.

The image was shared through the Facebook account Nicholas Oriop Kipsil on October 3, 2023.

“Aerial view of Kericho Town ahead of Mashujaa Day,” the user captioned the image.

Kericho Town is the headquarters of Kericho County in the Rift Valley region of Kenya.

Business Today investigated the photo and found that it is not of Kericho Town.

According to a reverse image search on Google, the image is of a section of Bucharest, the capital city of Romania.

Similar shots of the image have been posted on Shutterstock, confirming the location as Bucharest.

The location where the image was taken is confirmed as Unirii Square in Bucharest, according to this video recorded on September 29, 2023, and uploaded on Shutterstock.

123rf.com shared a similar photo with the caption Bucharest, Romania – October 1, 2016: High angle view of Unirii Boulevard in Bucharest, Romania.

A similar image was posted on Reddit five years ago, confirming the location to be Bucharest in Romania.

Information on Facebook claiming that the photo is of Kericho Town in Kenya is, therefore, false.
