A Facebook page bearing the identity Hon. Moses M Wetangula is not owned or operated by the politician, who is currently serving as the National Assembly Speaker.

The page has been making a myriad of posts, both political and general statements touching on different issues.

In one of the latest statements, the users posted a statement castigating Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga for calling for nationwide political rallies.

“If Raila Odinga wants street protests, let his children physically lead the demonstrations!” the page posted.

As of November 29, 2022, the page had accumulated over 65,000 followers and thousands of reactions from other Facebook users who thought that the page is owned and run by the politician.

However, Wetangula, through his verified Twitter account clarified that he does not own or run the page.

“My attention has been drawn to a post making rounds on social media using my name. Please note that the account being used to circulate the content is Fake. I have alerted relevant authorities to look into the matter and take appropriate action,” Wetangula tweeted on November 27, 2022.

Wetangula’s official Facebook page, as announced by the National Assembly through its verified Facebook Page, had around 2,000 followers at the time of publishing this story.

The Facebook Page bearing Moses Wetangula’s name is therefore not owned by the politician.
