A customer collapsed and died at the KCB Advantage Branch Moi Avenue, Nairobi on Thursday while seeking services from the outlet, the bank confirmed.

In a statement issued Thursday, the bank did not divulge the cause of the customer’s death stating that the matter was taken over by the police immediately after it occurred.

“We condole and stand with the family during this difficult time,” the lender said in the statement.

Consequently, the branch has been closed temporarily with the lender asking customers to seek services from alternative branches or through its digital channels.

On May 27, 2020, KCB was forced to temporarily shut down its Mvita Branch in Mombasa on Tuesday after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The affected staff who were working with him moved into self-quarantine.

The branch was temporarily closed for 3 days with the approval of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) to enable immediate cleaning and disinfection of the premises.
