A clearing agent from Riruta, Nairobi County is the winner of the 6th apartment in the ongoing Maisha Ni M-Pesa Tu Promotion.

It must have been one of his most memorable mornings for Joseph Kung’u Wanjiku who woke up to the news on August 17 that he had won the Ksh7.8 million apartment in Kahawa Estate off Thika Road!

The trader who was flanked by his wife, mother-in law, younger brother and two daughters was in awe of his luck when the news was broken to him by comedian Chipukeezy.

Kung’u has been living with his family in a bungalow in Kawangware for the past three years. Before that, he and his family were occupants of a house adjacent to the bungalow for two years.

Kung’u uses M-Pesa to pay his employees, clear bills, pay school fees for his children and sort out household needs.

“This is a surprise. I see people winning on television but I have never seen a person I know win. This is a great moment for my family and I,” said the jubilant winner.
