Centum Investment Company Plc on Friday announced the appointment of Wambua Kimeu to the position of Group Finance Director.
The position was previously held by Samuel Kariuki, who was handling the dual role of Finance Director and
Managing Director, Centum Real Estate, a wholly owned subsidiary of Centum.
Group Chief Executive James Mworia confirmed that Samuel Kariuki will continue in his role as Managing Director, Centum Real Estate.
Prior to this appointment, Wambua held the position of Chief Finance Officer at Almasi Beverages Limited, a former subsidiary of Centum, before recently joining Centum Capital Partners Limited as a Partner.
Previously, he worked at TransCentury Limited (TCL), where he held the position of Group Head of Finance for four years.
He was seconded by TCL to Tanelec Ltd, a leading Arusha, Tanzania based manufacturer of distribution transformers and low voltage switchgear, where he was appointed as Finance Director before working his way up to the position of general manager.
Prior to joining TCL, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Kenya in the Assurance and Business
Advisory Services department.
Wambua holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree-Finance major- from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom.
He is qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

The appointment comes after the company posted a Ksh4.6 billion net profit for the full year ended March 31, 2020, up from Ksh4.1 billion representing a 12% increase.
