Trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) returned from Eid-Ul-Fitr festivities on a retreat.
At a market turnover of Ksh352 million, the NSE turnover declined from Ksh409 million.
This followed the same trend that the NSE has observed after festivities, witnessing similar festivities after the Christmas festive period, as well as most recently after Labour Day.
In terms of concluded transactions, the bourse saw more deals, 1,010 as against the 983 that had changed hands on Tuesday.
Investor wealth also rose from Ksh2.285 trillion to settle at Ksh2.288 trillion by closing bell.
The Bond Market also witnessed improved activity with bonds worth Ksh4.5 billion transacted compared to Ksh2.3 billion posted the previous session.

At the same time, all the indices counters bumped upwards as follows;
- All Share Index (NASI) inched up 0.14 points to stand at 151.22
- The NSE 20 share Index was up 6.90 points to stand at 2710.23
- The NSE 25 Share index added 14.39 points to stand at 3656.19
NSE Sectors Wrap
The Banking Sector had shares worth Ksh89.8 million transacted which accounted for 25.48% of the day’s traded value.
Equity Group Holdings moved 684,000 shares valued at Ksh27 million at between Ksh39.50 and Ksh40.
KCB Group moved 667,000 shares worth Ksh26 million and closed at Ksh39.60.
Cross-listed firm BK Group was down 9.68% to Ksh28 and moved 500,000 shares worth Ksh14 million.
In the Insurance Sector, shares worth Ksh4.2 million traded and accounted for 1.19% of the day’s turnover.
Kenya-Re declined by 1.02% to Ksh14.50, down from Ksh14.65 registered the previous session.
The Investment Sector had shares worth Ksh3.9 million transacted which accounted for 1.11% of the day’s traded value.
Centum closed the day 1.69% higher to Ksh33 moving 117,000 shares valued at Ksh3.8 million.
The Manufacturing & Allied Sector had shares worth Ksh13.6 million transacted which accounted for 3.88% of the day’s traded value.
B.A.T exchanged 17,000 shares valued at Ksh8.6 million at between Ksh495 and Ksh508.
E.A Breweries moved 23,000 shares worth Ksh4.8 million and closed at Ksh204.50.
In the Telecommunication Sector, Safaricom moved 8.4 million shares valued at Ksh235 million.
