Renown author, linguist and journalist Ken Walibora is dead.

Business Today has learnt that the bi-lingual author lost his life after being run over by a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) on Friday last week.

The Siku Njema author had been reported missing since Friday and his whereabouts couldn’t be ascertained until his death was reported on Wednesday morning.

Walibora’s remains were traced to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH)  Mortuary.

Central Police boss Mark Wanjala told journalists that Walibora’s car is still missing.

Mr. Walibora was a former Nation Media Group (NMG) employee who served as group head of quality and standards for Swahili products such as Taifa Leo newspaper and the now-defunct QTV and QFM until January 2017. 

Walibora also occasionaly graced the screens to anchor Swahili news and his mastery of the language maifested itself on televisions just as it did on books

He is however more popular for his wide catalogue of books, some of which were tapped as set books for secondary school education including Swahili book, Siku Njema.

Other Swahili books under his belt include Kidagaa Kimewazoea, Damu Nyeusi na Hadithi Nyingine, Kufa Kuzikana, Ndoto Ya Amerika, Ndoto Ya Almasi and Naskia Sauti Ya Mama.

Innocence Long Lost and Bobby the Dog also count as some of the English books he has written.

So prolific in his art was Walibora that Google and Microsoft enlisted his services as a translator for their websites.

Walibora attended of Ol-Kejuado High School before proceeding to The University of Nairobi (UoN).

He held a PhD in Comparative Cultural Studies from Ohio State University in the US and previously taught at the School of International Relations and Diplomacy at the Riara University.
