Motor vehicle distributor, Toyota Kenya, has introduced the all new multi utility passenger vehicle Suzuki Ertiga to the Kenyan market.

The launch comes at a time when there is growing demand for 7-seater cars in Kenya with majority of the new vehicle registrations made in 2018 being station wagons. For the past five years, there has been a trend with the country registering a shift from passenger-travel to passenger-cum-cargo vehicles according to Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) Economic Survey 2019.

Speaking at the unveiling of the stylish and ergonomically designed Ertiga, Toyota Kenya Managing Director Arvinder Reel hailed the multi-purpose vehicle as a mobility solution that is comfortable, reliable and safe for customers and those they care about.

“The growing need for space pushes customers to look for spacious station wagons. The all new Ertiga delivers on this and also has deeper curves that add taste to our customers’ daily errands,” he said.

The Ertiga was designed with the family and small-sized businesses in mind with a 1.5 litre petrol engine, a maximum output of 77kw/6000rpm and maximum torque 138Nm/4400rpm. The multi-purpose vehicle can sit seven occupants and comes with a 3-year or 100,000km warranty, whichever comes first, with service intervals after every 10,000km. Toyota Kenya has also partnered with major banks to offer financing options to potential consumers.

Mr Reel also reiterated that customers purchasing the new Ertiga, will have the advantage of enjoying Toyota’s quality first class service that will be accessible and efficient, at a low maintenance cost from the dedicated and fully fledged spare-parts and after sales facilities nationally. Toyota Kenya has the best network with 8 branches, 5 Independent dealers and 18 Toyota Kenya Authorised Service centres across the country.

It also has an all-new exterior design featuring a taller and wider nose with a dynamic shoulder line, deeper curves, an aerodynamic body and refined chrome accents. The new exterior is specifically designed to be elegant with a strong personality that clearly differentiates it from other vehicles.

In February this year, Toyota Kenya announced a business partnership with Suzuki Motor Corporation to distribute Suzuki models.

“As Toyota Kenya we have been growing our market share and we would like to thank all our customers for their support. And as a company we are committed to ensuring that we deliver cutting edge technology and innovation into the Kenyan market, supporting the manufacturing pillar of the Big 4 agenda as we look at expanding our CKD production shortly,” added Reel.
