Hotel chain Sarova Hotels & Resorts was recognised as the leading Luxury Brand in the world and the leading Luxury Management Group in Africa at the just concluded World Luxury Hotel Awards 2018.
At the event held in Bali, Indonesia, the chain of hotels bagged four other awards.
Sarova Mara Game Camp bagged the award for the leading Luxury Tented Camp in the world, with Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa recognised as the leading Luxury Beach Resort in Africa.
The five-star rated heritage hotel Sarova Stanley won in the category of Africa’s top Luxury Historical Hotel, while Sarova Salt Lick Game Lodge situated in the Taita Taveta Sanctuary was awarded as the best Luxury Bush Lodge in East Africa.
Sarova Hotels Managing Director, Jimi Kariuki said the six awards were a representation of Sarova’s growing reputation as the leading luxury brand not only in the region but across Africa and worldwide.
“The fact that the Awards recognise unsurpassed excellence voted for by industry experts and guests that have experienced these hotels is an endorsement to the great product offering we have built at Sarova,” added Mr. Kariuki.

Other hotels that emerged victorious during the awards include Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp that was awarded as the world’s best Luxury Tented Safari Camp, Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge as the world’s best Luxury Wilderness Lodge, Mara Bushtops Camp as Africa’s best Luxury Eco Safari Lodge, La Maison Royale Hotel, Nairobi as Africa’s leading Luxury Business Hotel, Maiyan as the Africa’s top Luxury New Hotel among others.
World Luxury Hotel Awards, the world’s most prestigious and exclusive Awards recognizing the best facilities and service excellence the hotel industry has to offer, aims to not only recognise but also maintain overall service excellence by building staff morale.
Winners are judged on service delivery and effective management voted for by international tour operators, travel agents and hotel guests who get the opportunity to cast their votes annually.
