Nairobi lawyer Apollo Mboya had declined an invitation by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) because it is co-sponsored by Safaricom.

In a tweet, Mboya, who is emerging as one of the leading supporters of NASA leader Raila Odinga, was among lawyers invited to attend the one-day course on Business and Human Rights at a Nairobi hotel on Thursday, November 30.

The training is also being supported by the Advocates for International Development (A4ID), a London-based global charity.

Mboya,  a former LSK Chief Executive Officer, tweeted:  , I won’t attend this training because it is sponsored by an entity I’m boycotting for facilitating electoral injustice.”

Here is the LSK invite:

Safaricom is among three companies targeted for economic boycott by NASA for allegedly aiding the rigging of the August 8 presidential election and financing top Jubilee leaders. The others are Bidco and Brookside.

Several NASA backers, led by Raila, have in recent weeks been migrating to Airtel.
