Airtel Kenya has expanded its customer service presence at the Coast with the opening of two new customer care shops in Mombasa, as the telecom firm moves to bring services closer to its growing number of users.

The new outlets at Likoni Mall and Cannon Towers were officially launched by Airtel Kenya Managing Director Ashish Malhotra, marking another step in the company’s effort to improve access to its services and enhance customer experience.

For many Kenyans, telecom customer care centres are the go-to places when SIM cards misbehave, the internet refuses to cooperate, or mobile money services decide to test one’s patience. Airtel says the new centres are meant to make those visits quicker and more convenient for customers across the Coast region.

The shops will offer support for Airtel’s mobile, internet and financial services, serving households, small businesses and enterprise customers who rely heavily on connectivity for daily operations.

Speaking during the launch, Malhotra said the company is focused on ensuring customers can easily access Airtel services without having to travel long distances or endure long waiting times.

“We are committed to investing in our customer experience by ensuring Airtel products and services remain easily accessible to customers wherever they are,” Malhotra said.

He noted that as more Kenyans adopt digital services, the need for reliable customer support has become even more important.

The opening of the two shops forms part of Airtel Kenya’s plan to significantly expand its physical customer service network across the country. The company is targeting to double its customer care footprint before the end of the year as it works to improve service delivery.

According to Airtel, the expansion will help improve access to services, speed up turnaround times for customer requests, and support Kenya’s growing demand for mobile connectivity and financial solutions.

Also present at the launch was Airtel Kenya Customer Experience Director Goldermier Opiyo, who said the company is focused on making every customer interaction smooth and efficient.

“Our focus is on delivering seamless, responsive and efficient customer support as part of Airtel’s broader strategy to enhance service excellence nationwide,” Opiyo said.

With the Coast region continuing to experience growth in business activity and digital adoption, Airtel hopes the new customer care centres will provide much-needed support to individuals and businesses that depend on reliable mobile and internet services.
