Religious leaders of the Christian faith from Siaya County have warned today that extraordinary divisions over the separation; of President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, pose a serious threat to the growing country’s unity.
While at the Siaya County church leaders’ forum, the pastors, led by Archbishop James Opiyo Anyango, issued a new appeal for domestic unity and an unpartisan approach to the vast problems confronting the executive leaders, urging them to sit down and embrace dialogue for a cooperative effort that in time could end the separatism witnessed between them and their allies.
“We would want the two to come together and dialogue in a peaceful environment,” Archbishop Anyango said.

The other church leaders agreed that it was time for the nation to come together, as they voiced attitudes ranging from optimism to cautious scepticism that President Ruto and DP Gachagua were doing so little as Christians to make good on their central campaign promise of bringing the country together.
“It was not genuine and that is why they find it difficult to work together,” Bishop Martin Arara, a member of the forum said. “What is happening is a clear manifestation that these two leaders were cheating us. They are not genuine Christians and should go back to the church and receive Christ afresh.”
Bishop Arara insisted that for all of the tensions in the country, Kenyans still wanted to see their leaders find common ground.
He also exhorted citizens to respect and support their elected leaders so that the country may become united again.
