A photo shared online with claims that it is of Taita is false.

The photo, Shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user using the handle @_kush_ke, depicted a road on a green mountainous location.

Business Today investigated the claim and found it to be false.

According to a reverse image search on Google, the image is of Anaimalai Hills in Western Ghats, Tamil Nadu state, Southern India.

The Hills, also known as Elephant Mountains, are characterised by dense monsoon forests with species such as rosewood, teak, sandalwood and sago palms.

Among the inhabitants of the hills include the Maravar, Kadar and Pooliyar tribes, whose main economic activities are hunting, gathering and shifting cultivation.

The Tamil Nadu government says that the mountainous range, home to the famous Anamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, is home to civet cats, tigers, panthers, wild boars, spotted deer, black-headed oriole and racket-tailed drongo, among others.

The photo was shared by the Times of India and credited to iStock.

The photo shared on X with claims that it is Taita is, therefore, false.
