Caetano Kenya is now the official distributor of Renault Trucks in Kenya, through a partnership announced on 22nd Sept. 2023 to “strengthen Kenya’s heavy commercial vehicles industry and solidifying Renault Trucks’ customer base in this region.”

Renault trucks also launched the all-new 13L engine truck, adding to the running fleet portfolio in Kenya. The new 13L trucks have a more powerful engine brake thus enhanced safety and a broader maximum torque range, which enhances the trucks’ hill start performance.

Caetano Kenya Managing Director, Mr Pedro Campos, noted that Caetano has enhanced its operations and tailor-made its workshop to meet market needs. “To handle the Renault Trucks franchise, Caetano Kenya has invested in new stock acquisitions, building a Renault Trucks’ workshop at our facility on Mombasa Road and setting up a strong after-sales division for high quality and efficient service delivery,” said Mr Campos.

He said Caetano Kenya after-sales team is equipped to configure the trucks in an efficient way, with a key focus on increasing the durability and profitability of customer fleets. “We have put in place specific preventive maintenance plans for each type of truck thus ensuring quick turnaround which minimizes the down time of vehicles and loss of income for our customers,” Mr Campos said.

In his speech delivered by Eng. James Kung’u, Roads and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen lauded the partnership between Caetano Kenya and Renault Trucks. “I am thrilled to witness the union of Caetano Kenya and Renault Trucks, two industry leaders with a proven track record of innovation and excellence. This partnership will undoubtedly revolutionize the transport and logistics sector in Kenya, aligning perfectly with our vision for a more efficient and sustainable transportation network,” Mr Murkomen said.

For his part, Renault Trucks Vice President for Africa and LAPAC, Mr Cyril Barrile, said the Renault Trucks franchise will have a positive impact in the Kenyan transport industry.

“We are happy to reintroduce Renault Trucks to the Kenyan market after a short period of absence. We will offer a wide range of new and used trucks suitable for distribution and logistics companies, heavy construction, long distance transporters and other special uses,” said Mr Barrile.

He said Renault is keen on strengthening operations of transport companies by offering reliable and affordable purchase and after-sales services for their key assets – heavy commercial vehicles. “I am confident that our trucks will meet the needs of the Kenyan market seeing as they are specially designed to handle all kinds for cargo and terrain without hindrances,” he said.

Renault Trucks are expected to offer solutions for customers looking for heavy commercial vehicles that combine performance, comfort, and adaptability. Renault Trucks have advanced safety features in the market such as advanced emergency braking system with anti-collision warning, lane departure warning system, electronic stability control and drowsiness alert system.

The Trucks also come with Optifleet, an online fleet management system to optimize fuel efficiency, increase drivers’ performance and facilitate daily operations.

One of the strong differentiating features of Renault Trucks is the use of original parts which guarantees quality service and longevity of the truck usability. The clear track record ensures the truck’s original and resale value is upheld, as all trucks have a maintenance history in accordance with the manufacturers.
