Kamene Goro and Oga Obinna Reunite for New Show

Former Kiss FM morning show presenters Kamene Goro and Oga Obinna have joined forces, after leaving the Radio Africa Group-owned station within months of each other this year.

Kamene left Kiss at the end of January while her former co-host Obinna left in April. Sheila Kwamboka, previously at Vybez FM, joined the show following Kamene’s exit and continues to host it.

Now, the pair have teamed up for a new podcast. The first episode was released on Friday, June 16 dubbed ‘Another Friday’ podcast.

The podcast also features, in the background, Goro’s husband DJ Bonez complete with a full DJ setup. Goro and Bonez got married in April 2023 at an event attended by family and close friends. The couple got engaged in 2022 in Diani.

Kamene and Obina had earlier in the week featured among trending topics on social media, after a video of Kamene washing popular dish Omena with soap went viral, with many criticizing her. The video was posted on a new channel dubbed ‘Kamene and Obina’.

It was shared days before the release of their new podcast, a pointer to the lifestyle and entertainment content viewers and listeners can expect.

The first episode of the podcast features the pair discussing recent events in their lives including the social chatter surrounding their actions and exits from radio.

As he exited Kiss FM, Obina had stated that they had mutually agreed to part ways with Radio Africa following the expiry of his contract.

“If it’s a job or a car, I will be extra. I have driven that car I wanted to drive (apart from Range Rover Sport), lived in the houses I wanted, and worked in an organization I always wanted… I have achieved what I wanted to do and now we move,” he stated.

Kamene, on the other, hand, had during her exit denied reports that she was fired for allegedly missing work on numerous occasions.

“I have seen these stories, the truth is I was not fired, my contract lapsed and there was no need to move forward with it,” she stated.

“I was however sick last year and I followed the protocol, gave in the letters, I never showed up at work sometimes but it is because I was sick. I also never showed up at work intoxicated because I run the desk and you can’t run the desk when you are drunk.”
