Former Switch TV and Radio Maisha presenter Nzula Makosi has made a radio comeback, joining Standard Group’s Radio Maisha which has unveiled a new ‘dream team’ following mass departures.
Makosi joins the team, which will be led by Anthony Ndiema who has been appointed Radio Maisha’s head of station.
The popular Makosi hosted the Milele Drive show alongside comedian Cleophas Awinja before leaving the station in March 2018 at the height of her career.
Makosi, who holds a degree in public relations from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Karen campus), also worked for Baraka FM during which she was ranked as one of the prettiest Coast female presenters.
“I am coming back to what I love, radio. Thank you Standard Group for giving me this chance to reconnect with Kenyans on the biggest radio station,” she said.
Ndiema who had been away to pursue further studies at Daystar University will oversee how all programmes are run at the station.
“I never left, really, as I have been doing the graveyard shift on Radio Maisha even as I pursued other interests. All in all, I am happy to be back on the saddle working with the great Tom Japanni to steer Radio Maisha to even greater heights,” he said.
Wycliffe Okumu who was a presenter at Baraka Radio will also join the team, even as the Mombasa Road-based station tries to bounce back following the exit of big names in recent years.
The latest to leave the station include Beatrice Maganga and Hassan Ali Kauleni, having worked for the media house for close to 13 years.
