Mr Anangwe announced the move through his Instagram page, saying he is looking to amplify voices that speak opportunities for African youth as well as simplifying business and financial reporting.

“I’m here to support in the strengthening of a platform where the untold stories of young entrepreneurs, innovators from across Africa come alive; to amplify the voices that speak opportunities for the African youth while simplifying financial reporting,” Anangwe wrote.

Mr Anangwe was the founding Chief Executive Officer of TV47, owned by Mount Kenya University chairman, Prof Simon Gicharu. He left TV47 in June 2020, citing ‘personal reasons’ and later joined Look Up TV, where he worked until he returned to Consumer News and Business Channel – Africa (CNBC) Africa.

Before joining TV47, Mr Anangwe was a news anchor at CNBC Africa where he worked between August 2018 and February 2019. Prior to that, he doubled as a KTN News correspondent in Rwanda and a talkshow host for Rwanda TV.

TV47 is now headed Abubakar Abdullahi who took over the helm. Mr Anangwe holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass and Media Communication from Mount Kenya University where he graduated in 2020.

One of the biggest moves has been that of Joe Ageyo, who left Royal Media Services for Nation Media Group to head NTV. Ageyo joined Ben Kitili and Roselyne Obala who had earlier left Standard Group.

The continued assault on Standard Group has seen Fridah Mwaka, Lofti Matambo and Nicholas Wambua join Nation Media Group. Former Radio Africa Group multimedia editor Oliver Mathenge also joined NTV.
