Mansions, Cars, Clothes & Cigars – Jeff Koinange’s Million-Dollar Lifestyle

Jeff Koinange is one of Kenya’s most accomplished and celebrated journalists. The former CNN presenter is currently the star of Citizen TV’s line-up – and is compensated handsomely for it. He also earns from MC’ing and moderating events as well as endorsement deals.

Koinange makes no secret of his love for the finer things. In an on-air response to a fan’s question on his Hot 96 morning show in 2018 he placed his net worth north of Ksh50 million.

His known assets include mansions in Kitisuru, a valuable art collection, and his beloved Mercedes Benz G-Wagon.

Details of the mansions came to the limelight in 2020 when Koinange fought to stop them from being auctioned. He had defaulted on a Ksh130 million loan but managed to strike a deal with the creditor – NCBA Bank, before the properties went under the hammer.

The two four-bedrom mansions sit on 0.67 acres in the upmarket Kitisuru estate in Nairobi. They each include a servant’s quarter as well.

Koinange was living in one of the villas and had rented the other. Initially, he used the other mansion to house art pieces.

Koinange is a known art connoiseur and his personal collection is believed to be worth millions.

He enjoys driving around in a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon, worth over Ksh13 million when new.

When it comes to clothing, Jeff Koinange is in love with tailored suits. He has previously stated that he wears suits from all over the world.

In 2020, he appeared on his JKL show with a bespoke Ermenegildo Zegna suit he revealed cost him Ksh2.2 million. It featured a patch with his name.

Koinange also likes a nice watch. Among the timepieces in his collection are a Rolex Submariner worth Ksh1.5 million and a Breitling for Bentley with crocodile skin straps.

His love for cigars is well documented. His favorite brand? Partagas Series D, No. 4, which he smokes in the mornings and in the evenings. A pack of 25 of the cigars goes for over Ksh250, 000.
