GR8 Employment Solutions has announced plans to recruit over 100 Kenyans in coming months for hospitality industry openings in the United Kingdom.

The firm has so far placed 145 Kenyans in roles as waiters, chefs, kitchen porters, housekeeping staff and bar staff. Britain’s lowering of education requirements for foreign workers in 2021 has opened up more employment opportunities for Kenyans in the UK.

In a new drive, GR8 now expects to place at least 100 Kenyans in roles in the Channel Islands. It has agreements in place with Utalii College and Boma Hospitality College.

“We are looking to take 100-120 people to come work for us in the next six to seven months,” the firm disclosed.

To qualify for employment, applicants are required to have two years of training at either Utalii college or Boma hospitality college and two years of work experience. The firm is also looking to sign an MoU with Bukura Agricultural College in Kakamega county.

Besides Kenya, GR8 has worked in countries including China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and continents such as the Americas and Europe.

It was interestingly founded after one of its cofounders had an enchanting experience while holidaying in Kenya in 1988.

“Kenyans are also loyal, hardworking, and provide great customer service,” co-founder Lee Madden told journalists.

Successful applicants start work immediately after receiving a work permit, visa, medical check, and police check.

GR8 clients are able to select from a pool of talent through a web-based system offering access to CVs and other career info.
