President Uhuru Kenyatta has landed in Kisumu where he is slated to preside over the launch of the Universal Healthcare (UHC) pilot program in Kisumu, one of the counties where the program is being rolled out.
President Kenyatta’s visit to the region is his first since the March 9 handshake between him and Raila.
The former Prime Minister in an interview with Radio Ramogi on Tuesday encouraged locals to be upbeat over the president’s visit saying that with the head of state will come bearing goodies.
President Kenyatta is expected to preside over the groundbreaking of Ahero Interchange before making stops at Ahero and Nyamasira where he might address the locals.
Uhuru will then attend the official opening of the Ken Obura School before proceeding to commission the Kisumu – Kakamega Road at Mamboleo.
The President will then head to Mamboleo Showground where he will launch the Universal Healthcare (UHC) pilot program.

Kisumu is one of the counties where the program is being rolled out first alongside Nyeri, Isiolo and Machakos.
Deputy President William Ruto arrived earlier where he was welcomed by Raila.
