TV47’s Elizabeth Atieno Scoops ‘Journalist Of The Year’ Award

TV47 Health Reporter Elizabeth Atieno Ochieng scooped the ‘Journalist of the Year’ award at the 2024 Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA).

Atieno has also bagged the Health and Medical Reporting Award (TV Category) for shining light on crucial healthcare issues facing Kenyans.

Her story “A Sweatless Survival”, laid bare the tribulations of the Limanyang community in Turkana County, who do not have the ability to sweat.

The Annual Journalism Excellence Awards (AJEA) is Kenya’s prestigious journalism awards, given since 2012 for print, broadcast, and now digital journalism.

Through the Awards, the media has helped inform and trigger debates, nurture dialogue, and advance understanding of the defining challenges of current times.

The awards are a continuous annual recognition and celebration of journalistic excellence and achievement in Kenya.
