Bolt celebrated its driver partners through the third edition of the “Drive for a Prize” campaign, an initiative that recognises and rewards top-performing drivers on its platform.

The event, held in partnership with several companies on Wednesday, September 17, was designed to highlight the important role drivers play in powering the on-demand mobility platform.

The campaign is part of Bolt’s effort to appreciate drivers who have shown resilience, consistency, and excellence in service delivery. It also reflects the company’s broader strategy of creating opportunities to uplift and reward its driver community.

Speaking at the event, Dimmy Kanyankole, General Manager Rides at Bolt Kenya, emphasised the central role of drivers in the company’s success.

“Drivers on our platform are more than just partners. They are at the core of our business and the communities we serve. Their resilience, dedication, and service excellence make mobility seamless for thousands of Kenyans every day. With ‘Drive for a Prize,’ we are not only celebrating their success but also affirming our ongoing commitment to support, empower, and reward the people who make Bolt possible,” he said.

The highlight of the campaign was the recognition of top drivers across different categories. The winners walked away with prizes including travel experiences courtesy of ViuTravel, exclusive fuel vouchers from Total Kenya, car accessories, and other rewards.

Among the top winners was Evans Mutwol, who won a family trip and car accessories. He described the recognition as life-changing.

“I never imagined that my hard work would be celebrated this way. Driving with Bolt has given me the flexibility to provide for my family, and today’s recognition shows that Bolt truly values its drivers. Winning this prize motivates me to keep giving my best to riders every day,” he said.

Another award recipient, Serah Njoki Esther, said the honour was proof that consistency pays off.

“This award means so much to me because it shows that consistency and commitment don’t go unnoticed. It is not just about the prize, but the respect and appreciation we feel as drivers. Thank you to Bolt and the partners for standing with us,” she said.

Bolt has invested in several initiatives to improve driver welfare over the years. These include programs on financial literacy, access to healthcare, community building, and entrepreneurial support.

The company has also introduced measures to promote driver safety and well-being, while creating platforms to empower its driver partners.

The “Drive for a Prize” campaign is one of Bolt’s key driver reward programs and is designed to boost driver earnings, morale, and engagement.

By celebrating its drivers, the company hopes to strengthen its community and reinforce its position as a leader in driver-focused initiatives in Kenya.
