Scania in Kenya primarily sells trucks and buses for heavy transport applications and also offers product-related services including vehicle financing, insurance, and rental services. It counts many of the country’s largest transportation companies among its clients.

In December last year, Scania Kenya launched the  Scania Marcopolo bus, a premium luxury bus with a seating capacity for 50 passengers, built on the Scania F360 6×2 bus chassis, with the body supplied by Marcopolo, a Brazil-based body builder, who will be supplying the body parts of the bus, which will thereafter see the buses assembled at AVA (Associated Vehicle Assemblers) in Mombasa, Kenya.

It also rolled out its Euro 4 truck range, in line with the legislation that took effect in Kenya on January 1 2023 prohibiting the selling of heavy commercial vehicles with engine ratings less than Euro 4. The move saw them ensure compliance with rules contained in the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KS 1515: 2019) that have seen the country adopt Euro 4 emissions standards, replacing less stringent measures that had been in place since 2000.
