For the first time since inception, the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon security and safety crews will be provided with Kibo K150 motorbikes to aid in the delivery of their service during the annual marathon event. The k150 bikes have been donated by Kibo Africa Ltd, a new entrant into the motorbike space in Kenya.

Kibo Africa will also provide bikes to be used by camera crews who will provide live coverage of the annual event that will take place on October 28. The Marathon will flag off at 7 am from the Railways Club, Haile Selassie Avenue.

Kibo Africa Ltd is honoured to be part of this project in the year 2018 as one of the sponsors of the event. Proceeds from the Marathon are donated to the ‘Seeing is Believing’ community initiative that supports the blind and needy people in Kenya. The Standard Chartered bank collaborates with International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and leading eye care organisations to raise funds for investment in eye care projects that have a long-term impact in areas of high need. As part of its sponsorship of the event, Kibo Africa Ltd has donated Ksh 500,000 towards this noble initiative. Kibo has also donated a bike to be awarded to the winner of the 42km marathon, as well as providing bikes to be used in logistical support by safety marshals and camera crews. The company will also sponsor one water point along the marathon route.

Kibo Africa Ltd prides itself in providing safe and reliable mobility solutions. The company invested heavily in test-development of its K150 bike in Kenya to ensure it meets the highest safety standards and demands of local road conditions. As a result, the bike offers superior performance in safety, durability, reliability, and efficiency to maximize return on investment for the end user.

The K150 bike is built with a unique Hybrid Backbone Cradle Frame® that is designed to enhance the stability of the bike and protect key components. The bike is fitted with two headlights as standard to aid rider visibility coupled with front and rear disk braking system to provide maximum stopping power. Kibo has further invested in the safety of the rider by providing high-quality riding gear such as helmets, jackets, gloves, trousers, and boots to ensure the rider is well protected against the elements and any other eventualities.

The company has also invested in after-sales support through a country-wide dealer and retail centers network to ensure customers can be at ease and enjoy using the bike, wherever they are in the country. Kibo has also invested in an operational spare-parts division to ensure customers can access parts whenever they need them.
