Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi  Sonko has come out clear on his two alleged Facebook accounts under the names Mike Sonko and Mike Mbuvi Sonko terming them as fake accounts.

Speaking on Thursday, Governor Sonko asked members of the public to ignore all unverified social media accounts operating under his name saying they are fake and misleading.

“Today the fake Facebook account claimed that I had chaired two meetings one with the Executive Council which was allegedly attended by the President and another attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid,” Sonko said.

He clarified that no such meetings took place and they are all propaganda peddled by busy bodies to malign his name.

Sonko added that the fake accounts had been taken down by Facebook fraudsters who continued to make offers such as free motor bikes and employment opportunities to unsuspecting members of public.

“For avoidance of doubt, my official Facebook page through which I make official communication has 1.3 million likes and are verified through a blue tick, registered as Mike Sonko,” he noted.

The Governor urged Kenyans not to make payments for any service and report fraudsters to the authorities for quick action.
