Schneider Electric has unveiled its Green Premium Ecolabel, a programme aimed at delivering the best and safest sustainable performance to customers.

“The Green Premium programme is an expression of Schneider Electric’s innate belief that ambitious environmental considerations must be embedded in all of a company’s products in order to tackle global warming,” the company said in a statement.

Schneider Electric says it has been committed to playing a key role in the challenges the world is facing by developing innovative technologies that help customers find the right balance between reducing their carbon footprint and providing access to reliable and efficient energy for all.

Green Premium includes efficient use of energy and natural resources, along with the minimization of CO2 emissions.

“Sustainability, innovation and digitization go hand-in-hand. Clean energy and efficient energy management are key to stopping the climate crisis. Green premium is a mark of superior sustainability and business performance. The Green Premium ecolabel is a form of proactive communication for our customers that helps simplify all the environmental data related to legislation and regulations,” said Carol Koech, Country President at Schneider Electric East Africa, during the 7th Annual Clean Energy Conference organized by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers.

Schneider Electric also said it is investing in and empowering its local partners in Kenya and East Africa to ensure that products available in-country are both sustainable and optimize the total cost of ownership through technologies like the Internet-of-Things and circular services.

One such partner is Imexolutions, an Electrical Engineering Company in Kenya offering total turnkey solutions in the field of power distribution & automation and solar PV systems.

“As a certified panel builder and system integrator for Schneider Electric, Imexolutions embodies the idea of creating a greener, net-zero carbon future through electrification,” added the company.

“We believe in Schneider Electric’s purpose that seeks to empower all to make the most of our energy and resources and the technologies they have allow us to bring in the progress we wish to see in our customers sustainably. At Imexolutions, we are at the forefront of sustainability and with the right products, solutions and partnership in place, all coupled with digitization, we can deliver a clear path to business growth while minimizing impacts on the environment,” said Shinu Vattathara, Managing Director, Imexolutions Limited.

Green Premium includes eco-designed products, services and solutions that help achieve new levels of sustainable performance. The programme was created to provide customers with greener, more efficient products by ensuring compliance with the most ambitious standards globally including REACh, RoHS, RoHS China, and WEEE. Green Premium also provides complete environmental disclosure with over 300 EPDs (Environmental Product Declarations).

“Good intentions and government regulations alone cannot help companies to meet their sustainability goals. What is needed is information, transparency and knowledge and trusted knowledge is true power,” added Koech.

“Schneider Electric Green Premium ecolabel provides customers with the knowledge they need to make the right decisions about their own sustainability and environmental impact programs. Green Premium, through its systematic, comprehensive approach, provides the market with an unequaled tool that allows our customers to advance their involvement in the turnaround required for a more circular economy.”
