President William Ruto has congratulated Gor Mahia Football Club after the Kenyan giants clinched the 2025/26 FKF Premier League title, extending their record as the country’s most successful football club.

In a statement released after K’Ogalo sealed the championship, the president hailed the club’s achievement as a testament to hard work, discipline and resilience throughout the season.

“Congratulations Gor Mahia Football Club on winning the 2025/2026 SportPesa Premier League title and securing a historic 22nd league championship,” Ruto said.

The head of state praised the players, technical bench, management and supporters for their contribution to the club’s latest success.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work, discipline, and resilience that have defined your campaign throughout the season. I commend the players, technical bench, management, and the club’s loyal supporters whose unwavering commitment have once again propelled K’Ogalo to the summit of Kenyan football,” he stated.

The championship further cements Gor Mahia’s dominance in Kenyan football, with the club now boasting 22 league titles, more than any other team in the country.

Ruto noted that Gor Mahia’s influence extends beyond the football pitch, describing the club as an institution that has inspired generations of Kenyan football fans and young players.

“For generations, Gor Mahia has occupied a special place in the hearts of football fans across our country. The club’s rich legacy continues to inspire young Kenyans to pursue their dreams, embrace teamwork, and strive for excellence,” he said.

He added that the league triumph was not only a victory for the club and its supporters but also a positive reflection of the progress being made in Kenyan football.

“This victory is not only a proud moment for the club and its supporters, but also a celebration of the continued growth and promise of Kenyan football,” the President remarked.

Attention now shifts to continental football, with Gor Mahia set to represent Kenya in the CAF Champions League next season.

Ruto urged the club to carry the nation’s hopes onto the continental stage and expressed confidence in its ability to compete against Africa’s top teams.

“As you prepare to represent our nation in the CAF Champions League, carry with you the pride and goodwill of all Kenyans. We are confident that you will continue to fly our flag high and showcase the talent, determination, and fighting spirit that define our country,” he said.

The president concluded by wishing the club continued success in the years ahead.

“Hongera K’Ogalo on this historic achievement. May this success inspire even greater triumphs in the years ahead and bring further glory to Kenyan football.”
