Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration Raymond Omollo has hailed Kenyan police officers who recently returned from Haiti after serving under the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission, praising their courage, discipline, and professionalism.

Speaking during the official homecoming of the second contingent of Kenyan officers returning from Haiti under the Multinational Security Support Mission, Dr Omollo described the 700-member contingent as “heroes” who answered the call to support global peace efforts without hesitation.

“When the call came for Kenya to support efforts to restore peace and stability in Haiti, you stepped forward without hesitation,” he said. “On behalf of the Government and the people of Kenya, I thank you for serving with courage and professionalism.”

The principal secretary noted that the mission, though successful, came at a cost. He paid tribute to three Kenyan officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and assured their families of the government’s continued support.

“To the families who lost their loved ones, please know that the Government of Kenya will continue to stand with you,” he said.

Dr Omollo commended the officers for maintaining integrity and dedication while operating in difficult and dangerous conditions far from home. He added that their work played a key role in stabilizing affected areas, supporting the Haitian National Police, protecting civilians, and safeguarding critical infrastructure.

“Through your service, you represented Kenya with honor and distinction. Your professionalism has made our nation proud,” he said.

He further noted that while the current phase of the mission is coming to an end as operations transition, Kenya remains committed to supporting Haiti alongside international partners to ensure lasting peace and stability.

The deployment marked a significant moment for Kenya on the global stage, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in international peace and security efforts.

The returning officers were warmly welcomed back home, with Dr. Omollo expressing gratitude for their sacrifice and service.
