Phoenix Aviation, Kenya’s premier executive and VIP charter carrier based at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, has expanded its fleet to 13 to boost its tourism and professional medical evàcuation services across the world. The jet was received on Thursday 5th September.

It was flown from New York via Canada and Europe to Kenya after being cleared for entry into service. Phoenix Aviation has been offering executive charters and air ambulance services for the last 30 years.

“It’s a big celebration. It coincides with our 30th anniversary and it is a wonderful addition to the fleet,” Phoenix Aviation board chairman, Captain Steve Parkinson said, at Wilson Airport.

Mr Parkinson, who was one of the captains on the flight, noted that the new arrival will help the charter carrier to expand its global medical evacuations, charters as well as servicing governments and tourism. The other captain on the flight was Mr Kyle Lucas. They were assisted by first officer, Mr Russell Parkinson.

Phoenix Aviation General and Operations Manager, Mr Njoroge Wanyutu, said the new aircraft is a super mid-size jet of the Citation Sovereign C680, and is known for its exceptional range, comfort and performance, “making it an ideal choice for long-haul intercontinental flights and providing seamless travel experiences.”

He added that with its state-of-the-art technology and spacious cabin, the fleet of C680 will ensure that their customers enjoy unparalleled luxury and convenience, whether travelling for business or leisure.

“The jet can give us good range in terms of non-stop flights into Dubai, non-stop flights into Accra, non-stop flights into Asia, and even non-stop flights into Southern Europe. So this gives us a very good capability whereby we don’t have to keep on stopping along the way for fuel stops,” Mr Wanyutu said.
