National Bank Finance Director Appointed Managing Director

The Board of National Bank of Kenya (NBK) has appointed Peter Kioko as the acting Managing Director effective 10th June, 2022. The position became vacant following the appointment of Paul Russo as the KCB Group Chief Executive Officer on 25th May, 2022.

Announcing the appointment, Mr Russo: “KCB Group is delighted to have Peter steer National Bank to greater heights. Peter has played a pivotal role in driving the transformation of National Bank. Hence his appointment reflects our commitment to continue strengthening the business.”

Peter is currently the Director, Finance and Strategy at NBK, having joined the bank in November 2016.

He brings to this new role over 25 years of cumulative financial management experience having served in an array of leadership roles in various local and international organizations.

This includes East African Breweries Group Limited as the Head of Risk & Audit, Stanbic Bank as the Finance Manager – Corporate and Investment Banking as well as the Kenya Shell / BP Limited as the Group Financial Controller.

Prior to joining National Bank, he worked at EABL as the Finance Director. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) from the University of Nairobi, a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Bradford, and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is also a member of ICPAK.
