The Grand Nairobi Bike Race, in partnership with Jubilee Insurance, will on Sunday, 5th October 2025, host East Africa’s largest cycling event, 5th Edition of the Jubilee Live Free Race at the Nyayo Stadium.
The iconic cycling completion will begin at 6:00 am and will bring together more than 3,500 cyclists from over 20 countries. To ensure the safety of participants, spectators, and the public, temporary road closures will begin at midnight on Saturday, 4th October, and reopen at 1:00 pm on Sunday, 5th October.
A detailed update on the affected routes will be issued by race partners, including the Kenya Police, NTSA, and KURA. Motorists attending the event are advised to secure parking at Nyayo Stadium via Nairobi West before 6:00 am. Security will be provided along all routes and at the main race village at Nyayo Stadium.
Speaking during a partner’s session in Nairobi, Caroline Ndungu, Group Head – Marketing and Corporate Communications at Jubilee Insurance, said the 5th edition of the Jubilee Live Free Race carries a deeper purpose.

“Beyond the competition and the excitement, we are shining a light on two causes that touch lives directly. First, the need for mobility and dignity for amputees, where access to prosthetic limbs remains a major challenge. Second, we are driving environmental action through planting trees, setting up kitchen gardens, and restoring water towers in marginalized schools. This is about protecting today’s communities while giving future generations a healthier tomorrow,” she said.
This year’s edition also comes with increased prize money. “The Jubilee Live Free Race now offers KES 4 million in prizes, up from KES 3 million last year. That recognition will inspire cyclists to push harder, train longer, and aim higher,” added Ms. Ndungu.
On race day, Nairobi’s iconic roads will be transformed into a sea of bicycles. Organizers have put in place full logistical support, including medical teams and traffic management, to ensure the event runs smoothly.
The Nyayo Stadium race village will be open to the public, designed to accommodate families, children, and cycling fans alike. Visitors will find food stalls, kids’ zones, and relaxation spaces, making it a welcoming environment for all.
For those not cycling, the day will still be full of entertainment. The stage will feature live performances from Charisma and Vijana Baru Baru, alongside other family-friendly activities, ensuring a vibrant celebration for everyone.
