SuperSport to screen 380 premier league matches

Multichoice Kenya will air 380 Premier League and La Liga starting on the August 11 promising to bring world class coverage and expert analysis during and after matches.

Philip Wahome, the Communication and Corporate Affairs Manager, announced they have renewed the rights to air the lucrative Premier League and La Liga matches for five years and that they should not be worried about any kind of blackout at any stage.

Some of the other lucrative matches they would air include the Champions League, World cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

Mr Wahome also stated that one can be entertained with the ongoing friendlies while waiting for the premier league and La Liga kick off.

Some of the friendlies being aired include Chelsea vs. Arsenal on SuperSport 7 to be played on July 21. The Asian, Audi and UEFA Super cups are also part of the pre-season matches that will be aired live featuring some of the big clubs including Sevilla, Arsenal, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

A new bouquet, Explora 2, is set to be launched to add onto the Compact, Family and Premium bouquets. Some of its advantages include ability to pause, rewind and record up to 110 hours if one needs to watch at a later date.

“A new offer going for Kshs 5,000 fully installed with one month of Compact bouquet has also been launched and the public should take advantage,” said Steve Kombo, the Sales and Distribution Manager.

They stated some of the achievements including the successful airing of the IAAF under 18 championships live from the Kasarani Stadium.

“We have received a few complaints on why we stopped airing basketball matches and we want to state that we go with preferences of our public who requested that we air more football matches and less on basketball thus deciding not to renew rights on basketball,” Mr Wahome said.
