Longhorn Publishers on Monday announced the appointment of Joseph Kiruri as its new Chief Finance and Operations Officer effective December 5.

Mr. Kiruri has been plucked from global audit form PricewaterhouseCoopers where the company’s Managing Director Maxwell Wahome was also headhunted in 2016.

The new CFO is a financial analysis, reporting, auditing and strategic planning expert and has served PwC in Kenya and South Africa for the past ten years.

“The board welcomes Mr Kiruri to Longhorn and is looking forward to drawing from his experience and expertise to drive the company forward,” reads a notice to the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) and Nairobi Securities Exchange and copied to newsrooms.

Wahome and Kiruri will be expected to build on the company’s economic performance after it posted Ksh 183 million net profit for the financial year ended June 30, 2018 representing a 37 % increase up from Ksh133 million the previous year.

Kiruri holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Post-Harvest Technology from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) as well as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
