Second placed Bandari United will face AFC Leopards on Sunday at Mbaraki Sports Club as they hope to salvage their name after a humiliating loss to a coachless Kakamega Homeboyz.

Mathare United on the other hand will be hoping to capitalise on Bandari’s first loss of the league season. The team sitting on top spot play Mount Kenya United on Saturday at Afraha stadium, Nakuru and will be working to mantain their 6 point lead in the event that Bandari wins its subsequent match.

If Bandari drops points in its fixture, Mathare will be assured of a bigger gap which will be a safe relief for Mathare considering the fact that Bandari have a game in hand.

Now that Bandari are out of the unbeaten teams’ list, Mathare United and Sportpesa Cup winners Kariobangi Sharks remain to battle out who will blink first.

Sharks are 5th in the table, having drawn six matches out of the nine played losing none. The two teams played to a goalless draw in the slum derby on Wednesday at the Moi International Sports Centre.

Third placed Tusker are on tremendous form that Coach Robert Matano will be working to mantain when they play Posta Rangers on Saturday at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. The Brewers are the most likely victors in the match because Rangers are 17th in the 18-team table with relegation looming large.

Recent Sportpesa Cup winners, Kariobangi Sharks, will be facing Sofapaka in a battle for sixth. Sharks are currently sixth in the table but if Batoto Ba Mungu win then they (Sofapaka) will move a place up the table. Sharks however are full of energy, fresh from winning the Sportpesa Cup trophy and booking a match with English based side Everton.

Defending Champions Gor Mahia who just recently made it to the top four after beating Sony Sugar 2-0 will not play this weekend. K’Ogalo were poised to play Western Stima but the match has since been postponed as the defending league champions fulfill continental football duties. Stima and Gor have the same points but K’Ogalo are ahead by goal difference.

In another decisive match in the action packed weekend, Nzoia Sugar will host fellow millers Sony Sugar at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma on Sunday in a midtable affair. Both teams have for points with Nzoia Sugar ahead at 8th with goal difference. A win to Sony Sugar will see them move a place up in the table.

Other matches in the weekend include Ulinzi Stars vs Chemelil Sugar on Saturday while Kakamega Homeboyz vs Vihiga and Zoo Kericho vs KCB will both be played on Sunday.
