Leading online shopping mall, Kilimall.co.ke, has entered into an exclusive partnership with phone brands Infinix and Tecno. Through the deals, Kilimall will be the sole online seller of Tecno’s newest model, Tecno Spark as from August 26 and three new Infinix models: Infinix Note 4 Pro, Infinix Hot 5 and Infinix Hot 5 Lite, whose sale commenced on August 28.

Tecno Spark is a new phone model targeting college students with the youth-oriented features and price. Its main features include a 13MP camera, 16 GB storage and a fingerprint sensor. It will retail at Ksh9,999 and the first 100 buyers will get a free selfie stick and phone holder.

The Ksh19,499 Infinix Note 4 Pro is an upgrade of the popular Note 4 and it features a 4500 mAh fast charging battery and an intuitive stylus pen, branded Xpen.

Infinix Hot 5 and Hot 5 Lite’s main feature is a 3D stereo surround technology which gives the phones a home theatre experience. The main difference between Infinix Hot 5 (Sh. 10,199) and Infinix Hot 5 Lite (Sh. 8,399) is the RAM and fingerprint sensor.

Both Infinix and Tecno have been increasingly popular in Kenya since 2014 due to their affordable but quality smartphones which appeal to the largest Kenyan market.

According to Kilimall’s Head of Kenya Business, Norah Akello, the main target market for both brands and Kilimall is the same – young, low to middle class Kenyans looking for affordable products, and this informed the partnerships.

“Infinix and Tecno are known, quality brands and we are glad that they agreed to exclusively market their newest models through us. Over 50% of the phones we are selling are Infinix and Tecno and it is due to this reason that we are getting this opportunity to be the sole online sellers of these flagship models.” She adds.

Infinix and Tecno are owned by Transsion Holdings although both mobile brands operate independently in the country.

On the partnership launch, Infinix Mobility Kenya MD, Carter Tang said: “This is one of many future partnerships we will have with Kilimall, because more and more Kenyans are buying online, and that’s a market we are prioritizing.”

During the initial stages of the partnership, Kilimall has also announced that it will provide same day delivery within Nairobi and free shipping through their newly opened stations in Mombasa, Nakuru and Kisumu.
