Kibra MP Ken Okoth Succumbs to Cancer at 41

Kibra MP Ken Okoth is dead.

The family of the law maker made the demise announcement at Nairobi Hospital where he was on life support after his medical conditioned worsen.

Mr Okoth was battling colon cancer that had progressed to stage four.

The legislator was taken to hospital on Thursday at 8pm and got admitted on Friday morning at Nairobi Hospital. He passed on in the early evening of Friday while in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The 41-year old that was determined to beat the cancer revealed in February that his diagnosis came a little too late.

After revealing his condition to the public, Mr Okoth flew out to France to seek further treatment on his condition for five months.

During his stay abroad, the legislator kept sharing with concerned Kenyans details of his treatment, while also expressing optimism that he would pull through.

Mr Okoth was serving his second term as a Member of Parliament of Kibra constituency after being voted for in 2013 and 2017 general elections.

The body is being transferred to Lee Funeral Home. The family has asked for privacy during the mourning time.

Leaders have taken to social media to condole with family and friend of Mr Okoth.
