The Kenyan government has unveiled an exciting opportunity for its citizens to work as pharmacists on the island of Jersey, approximately 137 kilometres south of England and 14 miles from the French coast, which is not part of the United Kingdom but has close ties with the UK.

This initiative, launched by the State Department for Labour and Skills Development under the Ministry of Labour, seeks to reduce unemployment among skilled professionals and strengthen international healthcare partnerships.

“Work opportunity in Jersey Island. Qualified pharmacy professionals with diplomas or degrees are welcome to submit applications for positions available in Jersey Island,” the department stated on 7th June.

The openings, which include roles such as Lead Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, Clinical Pharmacist, Lead Pharmacy Technician, and Senior Pharmacy Technician, are part of a landmark agreement between Kenya and GR8 Recruitment, a Jersey-based staffing agency specialising in offshore recruitment.

“The Government of Kenya (GOK) has recently signed an MoU with GR8 to expand labour mobility and create more structured overseas employment opportunities for Kenyans,” it detailed.

To apply, people must send an updated CV, a copy of their passport biodata or Kenyan ID, and their academic and professional certificates through an online form by June 18, 2025.

The Diaspora Placement Agency and GR8 are the only authorised recruiters. The ministry made it clear that no fees will be charged to applicants, protecting job seekers from unfair practices.

According to the announcement, the Jersey Health Department is seeking skilled pharmacists to fill critical roles within its healthcare system.

Shortlisted applicants will undergo interviews, with successful candidates expected to receive job offers from Jersey’s health authorities, including competitive salaries and relocation support.
