Governor Waiguru can dance and sing better than you

Anne Waiguru is no ordinary Governor. She boasts of a flurry of talents including singing and shelling peas at incredible speed. But the Kirinyaga Governor gave Kenyans a glimpse of some of her finer talents on October 18 during a function in Mwea where she hip-rolled like a dancer whose eyes are trained on prize money.

Most Kenyans were in awe of her skills at the sound of a beat moving her waist in sync with the rhythm of Navy Kenzo’s Katika that she and her “crew” were dancing to. The former Devolution Cabinet Secretary was so good that her deputy Peter Ndambiri looked like a joker and to some extent, the governor almost matched the prowess of the choreographer.

Kenyan politicians are renown for their funny dance styles including the famous leg toss synonymous with former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and the Chini kwa Chini dance of the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.

But Waiguru is more of your new school kind of dancer as she impressed while rocking to the popular gwara gwara dance and the chest wave, moving her feet in tandem with those of her fellow dancers from the county office who failed to keep up with her.

Afterwards she averred that Kirinyaga’s got talent, at the moment nobody could argue with that.

“Kirinyaga’s Got Talent!! DG MCAs and I got to dust off our dancing skills with this talented group from Mwea” said the governor in a post on Twitter.

Shortly after she posted the video, Kenyans on Twitter were ungovernable with most of them admitting that they had been impressed.

Here are some of the tweets;

Waiguru had also wowed women in Kirinyaga on March 2,2017 when she briefly sang alongside some of her constituents.
