Fanaka TV has unveiled a series of programmes as it seeks to establish itself as the go-to station by adding fun to business journalism. This is the first major strategic action from newly appointed CEO Terryanne Chebet, the veteran TV business journalist who is transitioning into management.

The programmes include Biashara Mtaani, which will hosted by comedian Njugush. The show focuses primarily on small businesses with the ultimate aim of challenging those who may be unemployed and may have access to capital that is as little as Ksh 10,000 to start a business instead.

Africa’s Leading Ladies celebrates women making a difference in our country and across the continent both in the co-operate scene and the entrepreneurs who are driving Africa’s economy. It airs every Tuesday at 8:30pm.

Side Hustle features student entrepreneurs who have to balance between their businesses and school. The show airs every Wednesday at 8:00pm.

Business Minds Africa explores business trends, surging business minds, small and medium enterprises in Africa that are expanding to meet the growing world market demands and even the best in the business. It airs every Thursday at 8:30pm.

Chebet said Fanaka TV management, led by it’s chairman Moses Kuria, the Gatundu South MP,  has embarked on an intensive content creation strategy that will not only educate, inform, and entertain our audience but will empower and educate our audiences on the latest business news, entrepreneurship, agribusiness, tourism, banking and so much more. In addition, the station has also recruited more talent.

“Our tagline, Strictly Business speaks to our resolve to bringing only the very best of business news in formats and ways that have been informed through intensive audience research which consequently offered incredible insights into what Kenyans are looking for in the news,” said Chebet.

The new programmes are an indication that Chebet, a former Citizen TV business anchor, is stamping her authority at Bonvide Building in Riverside where the 24-hour channel is based.

Other upcoming shows include New Discovery Show, which will showcase latest innovation, trends as well as new and exciting businesses that we should look out for. On The Farms Of Africa features agribusiness stories that seek to empower farmers and prospective farming entrepreneurs.

“ I am very excited about the prospects of the digital space as we launch the first Facebook news show which will be done in our regular street language, with a little sheng and our rich and dynamic street Lingo. We tend to lock out so many Kenyans which jargon and complicated explanations, we are making business news simple without it being simplistic,” said Chebet.
