Car & General rides the all new TVS StaR HLX 150 to Kenyan market

Car & General has announced the launch of TVS StaR HLX 150 in the Kenyan market.

The new TVS StaR HLX 150 will help grow the strong market position of the popular TVS StaR HLX, which is present in the 100 cc and 125 cc motorcycle segment in the African subcontinent. Equipped with a new 150 cc Eco thrust engine, the all new stylish TVS Star HLX 150 effortlessly combines performance and power with fuel economy.

Designed and manufactured exclusively for the African market, the TVS StaR HLX 150 comes with the latest Internal Oil Cooling (IOC) technology making it high on durability and low on maintenance.

In addition to that, it is equipped with 10 brand new features including USB Charging Port, Gear Position Indicator, Fuel Gauge, Third Pillion Footrest with Plate, Stylish Dashboard, Hazard Lamp and Headlamp Visor. The motorcycle’s riding comfort is further enhanced by TVS Duragrip Tyres and Induction Hardened Telescopic Front Suspension.

Commenting on the launch, Vijay Gidoomal, the Group Managing Director said: “The TVS StaR HLX series has garnered immense appreciation and customer acceptance in the African continent in the last 15 years. Kenya has recently witnessed a positive upswing in the economy, thus creating opportunities in the transport and mobility sector.

It is a versatile motorcycle with state-of-the-art features designed to ensure customer delight.”

With the new 150 cc Eco thrust engine, the four stroke motorcycle churns out 8.9 KW@ 7500 rpm with a torque of 12.3 NM@ 5000 rpm. Other features include flexible turn signal lamps, designer alloy rims and F & R 130 mm drum brakes.

Available in Electric Start variant, TVS StaR HLX 150’s pricing starts at KSH 110,000/-. This powerful motorcycle comes in three colour options including Flame Red, Polyester Blue and Midnight Black.

TVS Motor Company exports to 36 countries in Africa, including Kenya.

  1. is it fuel efficient, and can the spares be bought locally upcountry in our jua kali spares shops,does it come with two helmets and two reflector jackets lastly how much does it cost
