Authorised Apple reseller, Salute iWorld, has launched its revamped apple products and accessories store situated at the 2nd floor of the Westgate shopping mall in Westlands , Nairobi.

The decision to remodel the feel, expand the floor space, re-energize the display, look and customer experience was informed by the industry’s fast changing trends and the fact that the world is fast shifting; so do customer needs when it comes to buying drifts and store predilections.

Speaking at the launch event, Salute Holdings Business Development Manager Michelle Abuya noted that Salute iWorld has the capability; competence and capacity to provide high quality products and services at the right price offering real and lasting solutions to clients in true ‘value for money’ terms.

“We are on a journey to ensure our customers get the best from our stores. This revamp is one of many to come as we seek to position Salute iWorld on the world map as a leading authorised reseller of Apple products and accessories,” she said.

Salute Holdings Managing Director Vivek Mehra, who was the chief guest, said he was delighted to have launched a trend setting store; a first of its kind in the region. He added that even though the Internet of Things (IoT) was threatening to take over the retail space, there was need to strike a balance on offline and online sales in a bid to fully cater to both preferences.

“Today, a large number of people make their purchasing decisions by searching for items on the internet and making online purchases and that is why we have gone full throttle on our e-commerce sites that offer easier and real time access to our products and convenient online purchases. However, not everyone seems to be excited about the digital store concept. For the critics, it is high marketing investment with hardly any focus on customer benefit for the sake of standing out as a tech savvy player,” he said.

According to a research by Euro monitor International, offline sales contribute to over 67% of total sales in companies and retailers in Kenya that run both online and offline stores.

Telco East Africa Marketing Manager at Redington Christine Judy said that as the Value Add Distributor for Apple in the region, the revamped Salute iWorld store at the Westgate shopping mall was the beginning of a series of refixes that will see a number of stores redone to reflect the iOS experience.

“We are proud to have been part of this great transformation, we look forward to having a series of these with our authorised resellers in the region to better the customer experience,” she said.

During the launch, Mehra also revealed that the retailer had signed a partnership deal with Aspira; product-financing outfits, which will enable younger users of apple products comfortably, afford authentic apple products.

“We are offering 100% financing to enable Apple lovers who are unable to pay for their favorite gadgets on a one off. The customer has the option of repaying us for 6, 9 or 12 months with an interest rate of 4% a month,” said Lydia Byarugaba Maison, Head of Innovation at Aspira.

She added that all one needs to do is to download the Aspira App on the Apple store or Google Play store and apply for financing.
