Absa Bank Kenya’s latest partnership with marathon icon Eliud Kipchoge, will empower customers, entrepreneurs and communities to realise their full potential.
Lender says the collaboration is unique as it celebrates what is possible when African talent, determination and opportunity come together to achieve world-class success.
“He embodies possibility beyond limits. He is proof of what is possible when talent, discipline and purpose come together. As a proudly Pan-African organisation, we are inspired by his journey in athletics,” Yusuf Omari, Managing Director and CEO of Absa Bank Kenya, says.
Mr. Kipchoge has won two Olympic gold medals and multiple World Marathon Major titles. He becomes Absa’s official “World Tour” financial partner.
He has also made history as the first person to complete a marathon in under two hours and is back to Kenya from a global tour where he won and set a new course record at the 2026 Melbourne Marathon.
“Success is never achieved alone. That is why I am proud to call Absa my partner and to feel their support as I run seven marathons on all seven continents in pursuit of my vision to make the world a running world,” Kipchoge says.
His journey from rural Kenya to becoming one of the world’s most respected athletes has inspired millions and embodies his powerful belief that “No Human Is Limited.”
Beyond sport, Kipchoge is passionate about inspiring young people, promoting healthy living and creating opportunities for communities to thrive. These priorities align strongly with Absa’s commitment to youth development, entrepreneurship, education and meaningful community impact across the continent.
The partnership will come to life through “exclusive” customer experiences, leadership conversations, digital storytelling, wellness initiatives and community programmes across Absa’s Pan-African footprint.
Through these engagements, Absa and Kipchoge will inspire individuals, entrepreneurs and businesses to pursue their ambitions with confidence and determination.
“We believe that every individual has a story worth investing in and that, with the right support, people can achieve extraordinary things,” Mwihaki Wachira, Absa Bank Kenya’s Marketing and Corporate Affairs Director, says.
Through this partnership, Kipchoge will remind the world that while everyone remembers the finish line, success is built long before that moment, through the people, experiences, partnerships and challenges that shape us. Absa invites Africans to pursue their ambitions and recognise that every step forward contributes to a greater journey of achievement.
