The Churchill Show is set to have its long-awaited comeback on Valentines weekend. The event will be held at the Lake Naivasha Resort.

The “Godfather” of comedy himself, Daniel Ndambuki alias Churchill will be hosting the show on February 13, 2021.

Some of the top comedians expected to perform at the event include MC Jessy, MCA Tricky, Mammito, Captain Otoyo, Jemutai and Terrence Creative.

This will be the first time the comedians will be performing before a real audience since the government put a ban on events and public gatherings in 2020.

According to Churchill, they are back refreshed, prepared, and re-inspired to bring their fans laughter like never seen before.

The entertainment industry in Kenya has been feeling the effects of the CoronaVirus Pandemic. This is after the government put a ban on all events and gatherings.

The Churchill Show which airs on NTV is one of the shows that was hit hard in as many comedians depended on the show to eke a living.

Daniel Ndambuki, alias Churchill.

The ban was introduced at a point when the show had lined up a live performance at South C, Nairobi. Churchill was forced to do the show without the estimated paying audience of about 1000 people. This left him counting huge losses in the loss of revenue from the tickets purchased.

Churchill has however been doing the Churchil Show Journey Series Edition. The show started with Churchill interviewing comedians who would tell their stories. He has so far interviewed Eric Omondi, Terrence Creative and many others.

In the last two years the Churchill Show has lost 5 top comedians including Othuol Othuol, Aiyeya, DJ Nakumatt and Njenga Mswahili.

Several comedians including the late Othuol have openly confessed to battling depression and at times addiction. In July 2020, popular Churchill show comedian Zainabu Zeddy brought to light the plague that has been ailing her colleagues in the laugh industry.

George Maina alias Njoro the comedian opened up to  Zeddy on his struggles with depression and how it pushed him to the edge.
